Support with Pricing

We know therapy is an investment. Here's what we offer:
  • Inclusive Health Psychology is out-of-network with insurance. We submit bills directly to your insurance so you can be reimbursed. Most clients in the San Francisco Bay Area are reimbursed 50-80% of the session cost.
  • We also offer a courtesy benefits check so you can confirm your out-of-network coverage.

Frequently asked questions
01
Help me understand payments and costs, end to end.
  1. The first visit is free and is for 30 minutes.
  2. After that, individual therapy is $295 and couples/family is $345 per session (before insurance reimburses you, which depends on coverage). We don't charge a higher rate for the initial "assessment" or "intake" visit.
  3. You're asked for a credit card when you book, but you are not charged until the day of your session. So, if on Monday you book a session for Thursday, your card is charged on Thursday.
  4. If you have out-of-network insurance for mental health, you're likely to get part of the costs reimbursed to you. We use a service called Mentaya to send your therapy bills to your insurance. Your insurance reimburses you directly.
  5. It's important to know the cancellation policy - covered next.
02
What's the cancellation policy?
  1. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment with zero charges.
  2. If it's within 24 hours, the session cost is charged to your credit card. Frankly, we prefer to avoid charging you this fee, so we ask that you book a session time that works well for you.
  3. But, we understand that emergencies happen. Contact your therapist if you can't avoid a last minute cancellation to waive the fee.
03
Who are your typical clients?

We serve all adults with no upper age limit.

We serve folks of all identities and backgrounds, both from "diverse" and "historically dominant" communities.

We support people who want to improve sleep, eating, and other behaviors, regardless of health status.

Our clients impacted by cancer/medical concerns are newly diagnosed, in active treatment, post-treatment, in short- and long-term survivorship, and at end of life.

We've tried to share out commitment to inclusivity on this website, but have likely missed things. If you're not sure whether and how we can help, please contact us.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

Currently, Saturday morning and Wednesday / Thursday evening sessions are available for booking. Please reach out if you need therapy sessions scheduled outside normal business hours.

06
How can I get started?

Schedule a consult so you can share your concerns and preferences, ask questions, and get to know your therapist.

07
Why don't you take in-network insurance?

We grappled with this question ourselves. Insurance companies follow a "medical model" - they cover therapy only if they deem it as medically necessary. This results in far less flexibility to adapt treatments to your needs. Insurance also pays providers unsustainably low rates and have also been increasingly denying claims and provider payments.

In addition, your therapist, Dr. Singh, spends a lot of time preparing for each individual session - updating treatment formulations, curating skills and tools to recommend in therapy, conducting relevant research, and consulting with other experts to improve the therapy plan. The goal is to deliver you gold-standard care. That's harder to do when spending hours dealing with insurance bureaucracy.

This does not excuse us from the responsibility that our services don't reach people who need an in-network provider. Our current efforts include several lower fee slots via the Open Path Collective. While we can't support everyone in need, we hope to help a few people now and keep growing that number in creative ways.
